Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble performs the finest wind literature and continues the development of refined, professional skills. Mostly 12th grade, and outstanding 11th, 10th, and 9th grade student musicians populate the Wind Ensemble. Members of the Wind Ensemble will perform in the Winter Concert, Variety Is, Collage Concert, Mid-Winter Concert, MSBOA District Band Festival, Spring Concert, Commencements, and other community performances. Students in Wind Ensemble will also perform at three home football games in the fall. Wind Ensemble students are required to participate in MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble and are encouraged to audition for the MSBOA All-State Band, and other University Honor Youth Bands. Wind Ensemble will also perform a special separate concert in the spring in downtown Plymouth at Kellogg Park. The Wind Ensemble has performed at the: Midwest Music Clinic in 1969, 1977, and 1994, the Michigan Music Conference in 1996 and 2011, and has participated in the National Bands of America Concert Band Festival. It is encouraged that students in this ensemble participate in private lessons on their instrument.
Chamber Winds
Chamber Winds is the fourth of the five wind bands at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. 12th grade, and highly advanced 11th, 10th, and 9th grade student musicians mainly populate Chamber Winds. This ensemble focuses on refining instrumental playing skills, and performing highly advanced music literature. Members in Chamber Winds will perform in the Winter Concert, Variety Is, Mid-Winter Concert, MSBOA District Band Festival, Spring Concert, and the fall. Chamber Winds students are also required to participate in MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble and are encouraged to audition for the MSBOA All-State Band, and other University Honor Youth Bands. Symphony Band
Symphony Band is the third of the five wind bands at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. 12th grade, 11th grade, and advanced 10th and 9th grade student musicians mainly populate the Symphony Band. This ensemble focuses on refining instrumental playing skills and performing advanced music literature. Members in the Symphony Band will perform in the Winter Concert, Variety Is, Mid-Winter Concert, MSBOA District Band Festival, Spring Concert, and Commencement. Students in the Concert Band will also perform at three home football games in the fall. Students in the Varsity Band will also have the opportunity to participate in MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble and are encouraged to audition for the MSBOA All-State Band, and University Youth Bands.
Concert Band
Concert Band is the second of the five wind bands at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. 10th and advanced 9th grade students mainly populate the Concert Band. This ensemble focuses on refining instrumental playing skills and performing quality music literature at an intermediate level. Members in the Concert Band will perform on the Winter Concert, Mid-Winter Concert, and Spring Concert. Students in the Concert Band will also perform at three home football games in the fall. Students in the Varsity Band will also have the opportunity to participate in MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble.
